Revision Plan, Project 3

Based on the evidence that I have provided in my draft, I believe that my peers will expect me to affrim when speaking to Alexander/Brandt/Williams and the reason for this is because I have spoken so much in my essay about how the discriptions that Alexander and Williams add to the essay about Victim Narrative is spot on with the way the Narratives that were chosen in Rising Cairn show victim narratives. I don’t believe that there is other evidence left out in the narratives. My narratives reveal to the reader that they were not treated the way they wanted to be and there fore it affected to way people behaved after that.

I think that my introduction needs some work but it doesn’t need a whole lot of work. I think that it is long enough but it just needs some of the information to be changed or more specific. I think that I describe the literacy narratives in a good way so I don’t see a need for change. In my essay I think that I need some work when it comes to looking into Alexander/Brandt/Williams, I think my paper needs a little more quotes to make it better.

In this part of my paper, “Such students, Paterson noted, often wrote about themselves as being invisible or used metaphors about being unclean or outcast from the world of literacy.” (Brandt) He does an excellent job of describing the way that Nathan felt in his english class. In Taylor Lacey’s Literacy Narrative, she talks about how she struggled with learning throughout school and she couldn’t keep up with the other kids in her class and she would be “tagged” for it. She was told that she had to learn another language and she couldn’t do it since she had a learning disability. I think that this is somewhat of a victim narrative and the reason for this is because she didn’t have the choice to not become the victim in this case. She didn’t make herself that way, she was born into it.” It shows how I use the quotes from Alexander to describe the way he views victim narratives and the way it relates to ones from Rising Cairn.
