Biology Lab Scientific Paper:
“Scientific literacy” is the knowledge and understanding of the scientific field, and the ability to use the necessary skills to convey those ideas correctly and coherently. In Biology Lab we read several different scientific papers and I was really able to spot the differences between normal literacy and scientific literacy. In scientific writing, one must be very careful to pay attention to the citing portion of writing, as one wrong period can make the whole thing wrong. Furthermore, you must follow the guidelines of each section of a scientific paper as well as writing clear and concise to get your point across. The learning outcome, “Demonstrate scientific literacy and the ability to communicate science-based information”, is extraordinarily important because in order to produce well-rounded scientists out of college, this is a crucial skill they must learn how to essentially live by to be successful in any scientific field.
