Due 25th

Brandy talks about the roles that sponsors can play in a students literacy narrative.  When I was writing about my narrative, I talked about my 8th grade teacher that wanted me to write 6 different types of essays through out the year and we had to go talk to her about what we did wrong and what we did right on everyone. You would have to have a 1 on 1 conversation about all the mistakes we made. Once you had that conversation, I had to go back and fix my essay and pass it in for a grade. In Brandt writing there were some examples. She would talk about how people would give their services and become servants so that they could earn money and can make sure there family is taken care of. She talked about how even the people who are really rich in todays world still have someone that is even higher than them and that they have to report to them. Sponsors are meant to go through a persons narrative and work through them and spread there ideas. The show how sponsors spread there lives and literacy.

Brandt explains how a commodity literacy talks about how a person in life is able to gain values if they want to. By talking about this, it shows the importance and hard work that it takes to get things in life that are important. When things are very hard to get in life it makes it so that there can be a lot of stress and chaos in life, instead of everything coming easy to you where there is no stress and you can just live life. When you are looking back on high school a lot of people hate thinking about the work because there is a lot of writing involved and that writing is usually about stuff that know wants to write about. When writing about something that you don’t want to write about it, people get mad when they cant figure out what to write about butt when you are writing about something that you want to write about you are able to focus and write everything that is on your mind and there really is no stress involved. Since everything is so complicated people can get very mad.

In the essay that Alexander wrote about he talks about all the different types of literacy narrative that you can write. One of the concepts that are talked about is a “hero” archetype. This is when a experience that is usually positive and it makes it so that they focus on themselves as a hero and as a model that people should follow. The reason why I talk about this is because when I was in 7th grade my teacher had us watch a movie about super heros where we had to pick a character and write on essay about why we thought they were the best superhero out of all the others. Since Alexander was talking about heros he also had to talk about the opposite of a hero, which is a rebel. Rebels are usually people or soldiers that go against any sort of government that is being used. Rebels and Heros can be the same as a person who doesn’t like to write what the teacher has assigned them instead they would rather go off on their own and right about what they want to write about and not what the teacher has assigned to them.
